Rkn, a prominent figure in the Apex Legends competitive scene, has decided to step down from the Sentinels roster in the ALGS. This decision comes after a one-year run with the organization and an 18th-place finish in Split 1 of the pro league. This roster has struggled over the past year by not qualifying for Split 2 playoffs in year 3 and being eliminated early during the year 3 championship LAN. Despite the less-than-stellar outcome, the team now consisting of Xenial and Lewda will maintain their pro league spot for Split 2 of year 4.
Xenial took to Twitter to announce Rkn’s departure, stating that they would be looking for a new player to fill the gap left by Rkn’s absence.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Rkn has retired from competitive Apex altogether, as he has yet to make a formal statement regarding his future plans. Rkn for now has blacked out his Twitter and added “former @Sentinels to his bio… it looks like we could see a statement from him coming soon.
Additionally, the fate of Xenial and Lewda within the Sentinels organization is also uncertain. Xenial’s initial signing with Sentinels was announced on April 13th, 2023, marking a year since the announcement. With this milestone, speculation arises about the renewal of his contract and the potential for changes within the team composition. The only thing that is certain at the moment is that we should see Xenial and Lewda competing in pro league for Split 2 in the coming months.
The future of Sentinels in the ALGS hangs in the balance, with several possibilities on the horizon. It’s conceivable that Sentinels may opt to part ways with Xenial and Lewda, seeking a fresh roster for Split 2. Alternatively, they could choose to retain the current lineup or even withdraw from the ALGS entirely.
As the situation unfolds, fans eagerly await updates on Sentinels’ plans for the upcoming split and the fate of the Xenial + Lewda roster. Stay tuned for further developments on this situation within the ALGS community.
