Earlier today, Aurora announced on Twitter that they would be parting ways with one of EMEA’s finest, Hardecki, also known as The Grim Reaper, after just six months with the roster and halfway through Split 2.
During Hardecki’s short tenure, Aurora set a record during Split 1 of the Pro League, amassing 161 total points and allowing him to qualify for his first LAN in many years. The addition of Hardecki had generated considerable excitement among fans, as Aurora has long been regarded as a powerhouse team.
Aurora’s official Twitter account stated, “Aurora is grateful for everything Kostya has done during our time together, and he will forever be a part of our history.” Aurora player Ojrein also spoke on the decision, expressing the team’s appreciation for Hardecki’s contributions.
Fans worldwide are now speculating on who Aurora will pick to replace Hardecki for the second half of Split 2 in the Pro League. Even fellow EMEA pro Gnaske weighed in on the topic expressing his thoughts on the decision and who could be the new pickup.
One commenter suggested Prestis or even former Aurora member Taskmaster as potential replacements, though no confirmation has been given yet.
Today in the Pro League, Aurora played with their coach Wrugb as a stand-in and managed to place fairly well, securing 5th place on the day.
Stay tuned for more updates on Aurora and Hardecki going forward.
